The residence of singing duo PSquare was sealed off by sheriffs from the Lagos High Court and FSARS on Friday, February 19. The heavily armed officers stormed the artists’ home, Squareville, located at Ojodu Berger, very early in the morning with a court order, based on allegations of fraud filed against the duo, to seize the property. When they were refused entry by the gateman, the police forced their way in injuring one of the security guards.
Speaking with witnesses, Naij.com gathered that the Okoye brothers: Paul, Peter and Jude, were paid over N8m in January to perform at a show but failed to turn up. Another source revealed that eight to nine years ago PSquare was paid about N1m for a show in Benin. The duo were at the venue on the agreed date but the event was postponed to the next day. The artists refused to stay to perform and returned to Lagos. The organizer of the show demanded his money back but was not refunded and ever since, the case has been in court.
