It’s said that a mistake in art is an art but hey, a mistake will always be a mistake and when critics like us don’t come out to talk about it, then we shall not learn.
There are a few nitty-gritties that most of our video producers tend to overlook that culminate into the retardation of our industry. Some of us may take them lightly but at an international platform, they expose the level at which our industry still lies.
Spice Diana popularly known for her hit single “Onsanula” managed to step out of her comfort zone and released yet another hit dubbed “Tekinanta” that has so far received ample airplay from both radio stations and TVs.
Despite the video being good, the maker and director for the video in question Hassan seems to have forgotten that there is a level that the industry is ought to be and therefore should not let such careless mistakes go without notice.
Like Pallaso’s video where Sasha Vybz used an authenticated plugin and forgot to disguise it, at 0.10-22 seconds, the director forgot to ensure that he avoids the reflection of the camera operator and directors in the designer shades that Diana was putting on.
The blame can’t be put on the musician because they aren’t technical about it but entirely on the director who is expected to know some of the nitty-gritties the D.O.P should bear in mind when executing his duty.
The above mistake therefore is likely to cost the singer who would for the second time gotten a chance for her video to be played on an international platform like Trace Urban, MTV or so because the first aspect they look at is whether the video was professionally made before anything else comes into play.
