A new partnership between Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) and AUTO is expected to develop the Uganda martyrs trail 2014.
UTB is organising a meeting with tour operators on Thursday at UTB Kololo offices to perfect the draft itinerary, organise a priced package, arrange a FAM trip, arrange to visit African countries and perfect the marketing strategy .
Every third day of the month of June, hundreds of thousands of faithful pilgrims descend onto Namugongo to walk in the footsteps of the Uganda Martyrs. Over 1,000 pilgrims fly in from Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania to attend the same event.
This year, UTB has designed a 7-day itinerary for the high-end pilgrims that fly in, in a bid to prolong their stay in Uganda.
