After Ice Prince scooped the prestigious BET award in our faces, Ugandan rapper Wan Rizzy formerly known as 1-Rail swore to bring the award home come next year.

We may not have to wait for next year to kick off the celebrations, while Nigerian music dominates the airwaves in Kampala, the Jinja born artiste is an Igwe of sorts on the airwaves of Nigeria with his song ”In another world”, debuting on on 9th position on Nigeria’s urban radio, Y-fm official African top 10 hits.

This comes just a fortnight after the song scored a million plays on sound cloud.  The single comes off his upcoming mixtape, ”limelight” with lyrics to the single already on rap genius.

Way to go, Wan Rizzy!

The second edition of The Koroga Festival took Kampala food lovers on a mouth-watering ride as “foodies” gathered together on Saturday for an exciting afternoon cookout at The Gardens in Najjeera.

The food festival attracted a large crowd of soul food enthusiasts who were gearing to show off their cooking skills as early as midday, with “food gangs” divided into groups of 10 with a mission to cook a satisfying meal.

Each party was given six kilos of goat and chicken, cooking ingredients and a crate of Tusker Lite for the day’s cookout adventure, and they soon got completely absorbed into preparing a scrumptious meal which later turned out to be a delightful afternoon of munching on tasty ‘meaty delicacies.’

“This second edition has been more interesting than the last. We witnessed the different tasty meals from the many teams that cooked and I must say, it has been a delicious experience. We are looking forward to doing this again come December,” said My Food Network’s Mark Kaheru, the organisers of the festival.

Revelers were later treated to a silent disco evening with the Almost Famous DJs on the decks.

The Koroga Festival is a popular annual event that has its roots in Kenya. Its name is derived from the Swahili word “koroga” which means “to mix” or “to stir”, and is an apt representation of all that happened on a day centered around food and drink.

“It was such a jovial day in Masaka today as I together with Democratic Party President general Nobert Mao, Dr. Abed Bwanika, Hon.Michael Mabike, Hon. Lubega Mukaku, John Mary Ssebuufu, Derrick Mutema, Hon. Mukasa Mbidde, Hon. Florence Namayanja my new DP family attended the blessed episcopal ordination of the new Bishop of Masaka Diocese – Msgr Severus Jjumba.

Im very optimistic that the people of Masaka have got a Joshua to lead them into the promised land.

As St Paul said, there is no other source of salvation but the Cross. Lets not look for the Gospel of prosperity but focus on the cross which will lead us to the crown.

May the same cross help us from the selfishness exhibited by some of our political actors but rather pave way for the newfangled political leaders like us.

Dr. Paul Kawanga Ssemwogerere I heed the advise

Thank you Buganda Katikkiro Owek. Peter Charles Mayega for the inspirational speech.”
