Eunice Namirembe, from The Medical Concierge Group emerged victor at the Google Africa Connected competition. She was among the 5 winners who were selected from over 2,200 entries from 35 countries, by a panel of judges as well as public voters, and they each bagged a whopping $25,000 (Ushs 65M).
The Medical Concierge Group (TMCG) is a consortium of innovative ventures in the Health Care industry involving Call Centres, Clinics, Ambulances, Consultancy, Software Applications and a Foundation.
Through a mobile ambulance call centre, Namirembe is helping Ugandans access medical services and information easily using technology.
“I hope to stand as a Ugandan, I feel like doing more for the health service in Uganda,” said an excited Namirembe after receiving her prize. She will now do a 6 month mentorship with Google.
The competition was launched in August 2013, calling entrepreneurs, ‘creatives’, innovators and web-lovers to share stories of how the web has transformed their lives and work.
