Star Skyler, born Mary Wambui Opicha on August 31, 2001, in Nairobi, Kenya, is a powerful Blues and R&B artist whose music transcends borders and resonates with the human experience.
Raised in the vibrant city of Nairobi, Star’s early life was marked by both joy and hardship. After her mother, Hellen Seti, left for Germany in search of better opportunities when Star was just five years old, she was lovingly raised by her grandmother, who instilled in her the values of strength, resilience, and determination.
It was under her grandmother’s nurturing care that Star discovered the therapeutic power of music. Encouraged to express herself through song, she began writing her own lyrics and melodies, drawing inspiration from the soulfulness of Blues and R&B. These genres became a natural fit for her emotions, allowing her to channel her experiences into art.
