Uganda Police Confirm Death of Tycoon Sudhir’s Son, Rajiv Ruparelia, in Fatal Crash

Uganda Police have confirmed that Rajiv Ruparelia, son of business magnate Sudhir Ruparelia, has died in a tragic car accident early this morning.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, the single fatal crash occurred on May 3, 2025, at around 1:54 a.m. A white Nissan GTR, registration number UAT 638L, overturned and caught fire at the Busabala flyover. Police have identified the driver as Rajiv Ruparelia, 35, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigations are ongoing.

Rajiv Ruparelia was the managing director of the Ruparelia Group, one of Uganda’s largest business conglomerates with interests in real estate, hospitality, banking, and education.

Known for his entrepreneurial spirit, Rajiv played a key role in expanding the family empire and was active in philanthropy and sports, especially motorsport.
