Despite beating Comoros 1-0 on September 5th, 2015 in the 2017 AFCON Qualifiers, Uganda Cranes have dropped by four places (from 71st to 75th) in the latest Coca cola FIFA Rankings that were released on Thursday, 1st October 2015 in Zurich, Switzerland.
Uganda lost 23 points this time as their total put them to 455 points from last month’s 478 points.
However, 2017 AFCON qualifier group mates, Burkina Faso justifiably dropped by three places (from 73rd to 76th) with just 427 points following their 2-0 loss to Botswana in Gaborone.
In the same vein, Comoros also fell by three places (from 190th to 193rd) with just 48 points while Botswana were the only Group D improvers, raising by seven places (from 118th to 111th) with 305 points.
Uganda’s 2018 World Cup qualifier opponents, Togo are ranked 79th with a tally of 418 points while CHAN opponents, Sudan are 84th after rising by five places.
Nonetheless, Uganda still top the CECAFA region, followed by a 93rd placed Rwanda who fell by 15 places with 364 points.
Africa-wise, Algeria are still top and ranked 19th in the world, followed by Ivory Coast in second place and 21st worldwide.
