Uganda Cranes have kicked off intense training at Namboole stadium ahead of a crucial tie against Botswana in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations’ Qualifiers early next month (4th June).
However, before the vital clash in Francis town, Botswana, the Cranes will face off with Zimbabwe first on 31st May in an international friendly as part of their buildup.
In a training session held yesterday, Werder Bremen striker Melvyn Lorenzo scored a goal as he made an impression on the coach. The 21-year-old striker is however yet to decide whether he will play for Uganda or Germany. This implies that he will not be fielded against Botswana but is much likely to feature in the friendly against Zimbabwe.
Players that turned up for training are; Salim Jamal Magoola (GK), Dennis Iguma, Joseph Ochaya, Hassan Wasswa Mawanda, Murushid Juuko, Erisa Ssekisambu, Farouk Miya, Emmanuel Okwi, Edris Lubega, Geoffrey Massa (Captain) and Melvyn Lorenzo.
