Tusker Project Fame Auditions finally arrived in Kampala Yesterday attracting hundreds at Shereton Hotel. The judges were Cleopatra Koheirwe of the former girls group, the Obsessions, Capital FMs Flavia Tumusiime and Juliana Kanyomozi who were present by 8am and the auditions kicked off.
Although the show was to start at 8am, large numbers were seen as early as 7am at Shereton Hotel, where the auditions where the first day of auditions took place yesterday.
There was a showcase of great talents and a sense of fashion among the participants like a man in a pair of blue jean shorts that had been cut above the knee joint caught eyes of many present at the venue. A contestant who started out low and built up her tempo with her own rendition of “Next to me” to impress judge Cleo earned a clear pass to the next round.
Just like her, Irene the rapper from the digital auditions was also among those who got golden passes from Judges. The auditions were supposed to end at 6pm and today will be the final day where they are scheduled to start at 8am and end at 6pm. In a search to discover the most talented individuals that will represent Uganda in the ultimate music show in East Africa in October, TPF season 6 kicked off in the country with the first auditions in late August at Desert Breeze Hotel in Arua.
The judges were renowned music producer Benon Mugumya, Arua one FM presenter, Stella Atizuyo and Urban Tv’s Bush Baby. Mbarara was the next destination on 31 August, 2013 at the Agip Motel. All those who went through from the other districts joined their counterparts in Kampala to tussle it out. Auditions in all participating countries of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi and South Sudan are also on going.
The daily highlights of happenings in the tusker Project Fame house will be broadcast on Monday to Friday at 9:30pm-10pm and the live eviction and nomination shows on Saturday and Sunday starting from 8pm and 7:30 respectively. Since 2006 Uganda has had icons of TPF like Jacob, Esther Nabaasa, Davis Ntaare and Naava Grey. Who is to represent Uganda in this year’s season?
