Micheal Toyota Nuwagira, the National Vice Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda has rallied the opposition in the country to join the outfit and participate in the nation building.
Mr Nuwagira made the remarks today at Booma grounds in Hoima district while addressing tens of thousands of supporters of Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the PLU National chairman upon his recent appointment as the Chief of defense forces, Uganda Peoples Defense Forces.
“Iam appealing to you the people of Hoima not to join opposition and its lies, It’s only the NRM government that understands your needs and what plans it has for you.” Mr Nuwagira noted amidst ululations from PLU supporters.
The PLU supremo also assured the people of Hoima that the NRM government is still around for more years to promote prosperity and transformation of its citizens and thus asked them to keep supporting the party chairman President Yoweri Museveni paka last.
Toyota Nuwagira who was accompanied by other PLU honchos further commended hundreds of the opposition members who denounced their former parties to join the outfit to preach its gospel to reach the four corners of the country.
“Iam very happy that more opposition members are joining PLU because for us we welcome everybody to come and join us. I want to welcome you home. We want people to be happy in their country and to love their country. I want you to choose leaders who will be able to move the country forward” He added.
The event was marked by an electric atmosphere with excitement and glamour as PLU supporters thronged the venue dressed in party attires to celebrate the appointment of their leader as the army chief by the commander in chief.
The supporters were also electrified by great entertainment from top musicians from Kampala led by Big Size Bebe Cool among other artists.
