Ugandan celebrities, just like their counterparts world over will break up with their lovers over anything and at any time. 2014 saw many such breakups with celebrities walking out of relationships almost every day. Presenting the top five Ugandan celebrity breakups of 2014.
Iryn Namubiru and Gabriel Epenu
These two love birds were once one of the most talked about couple. Singer Iryn and TV news anchor Gabriel had one of the best relationship until the later was involved in a nasty accident. After the accident, a bed ridden Epenu was neglected by the love of his life. To make matters worse, his mother warned Iryn never to step foot near his house or risk losing her legs. She decided to call it quits with Gabriel ending this celebrity relationship.
Desire Luzinda and Franklin Ecoubar
Desire was all lovey dovey with her Nigerian man this year until things got ugly. The two who met in a casino in Kampala had taken their relationship far to the extent of having Franklin to leave his heavily pregnant baby for the Ekitone singer. Things turned sour when after a few months of dating the Nigerian tycoon accused Desire Luzinda of cheating on him with several city men. The Nigerian lover released a list of her lovers and publicly humiliated her when he followed the list with nude photos of Desire Luzinda. Much as they helped her get to the international stage and get more gigs for her music career, she decided to dump the Nigerian and get him out of her life. This couple ended their relationship on a bad note.
Zari and Farouq
When city socialite, Zari Hassan, left her flabby hubby Ivan Ssemwanga for a well-built Farouq Ssempala, many were convinced that she had found the love of her life. Little did the Ugandan public know that Zari and Farouk would be no more months later. The two who painted the whole of Kampala red with their love, smooching and kissing each other at every available opportunity and rubbing their love in the envious eyes of the general public broke up unexpectedly. Apparently, Zari woke up from her love dream and found out that Farouk was playing her along with several city chics, she decided to throw in the towel. Farouk was dumped like a grasshopper.
Mario and Cindy
These two love birds had been together for quite some time until things got sour. The Former Blu* 3 star, Cindy, was head over heels for Mario Brunette until he accused her of infidelity. Mario said that Cindy would return late in the night to their home, smelling booze and semen. He also said that she opened her legs faster than a google page. Cindy couldn’t stand such insults hence the breakup. The two later fought for custody of their kid daughter. Mario won.
Dj Alex Ndaula and Drucilla
Veteran Capital FM radio Deejay, Alex Ndaula was in February 2014 deleted from the life of his wife Drucilla. The DJ was so devastated by the break up that he rushed to Facebook to vent his anger. He posted; “I have to say this I hurt! I have been with a lady who I love deeply! Want her, need her, but she does stupid sh*t! Why? I don’t know! But she is where she is because someone had her back! For those who know me, please tell her I love her. And whatever is jack! But after that! I’m strong! Just want a good life! Coz I can make it so! I’m just pissed off coz of BS and my lady doing BS! Yet I have to come correct! Dre! (I.e. Drucilla). Wherever, whatever. Be Real! Coz where you are is coz someone had your back! Others reading this, YES BS I HURT MAJOR! I’m Hurting! Nuff said! Seriously! It may sound BS, but I want someone for me! Can handle everything else! May seem like a rant! But your boy is hurting!
