Looks like he’s man enough for her! Toni Braxton made her romance with Birdman official at the 2016 BET Awards on Sunday, June 26. The usually private pair posed for photos and engaged in some slight PDA at the ceremony inside Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater.
“Toni and Birdman spent some time together backstage,” a source tells Us Weekly of the new couple. “They were holding hands.”
Braxton, 48, who dressed in a sexy, skin-baring black Bao Tranchi gown, attended the event with her “Y.U. Mad” rapper beau, 47, who was there to present an award with fellow hip-hop stars Snoop Dogg and Jermaine Dupri.
While the “Un-Break My Heart” songstress has yet to comment on her relationship with Birdman, her mother, Evelyn Braxton, has given her seal of approval to her daughter’s latest love interest.
“I think he is a nice man,” the Braxton Family Values matriarch, 68, said during a June 23 appearance on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show. “I don’t care what others say about him. He is a nice man. He is full of respect.”
Toni and Birdman first became friends 14 years ago when they collaborated on the 1992 track “Baby You Can Do It.” Evelyn told the radio program that she knew the Cash Money Records cofounder was a winner from the start. “Ever since I’ve been knowing that man, he’s been phenomenal,” she declared last week.
Singer turned reality star Toni was first linked to Birdman back in May.
