Hell will break lose today at the Wankulukuku stadium when the ‘Red Eagles’ (Express) of the Uganda Premier League (UPL) host table leaders Vipers. With both sides having missed sliver ware for a couple of years now, the urge to win increases day by day.
The 2010 champions Vipers (known as Bunamwaya at the time) have become the hot potato of the league following their 11 match unbeaten run in which they have won 9 and drawn just 2, leaving them top with 29 points. Vipers drew against defending champions KCC and the 5-time record champions URA with both games ending in a 2-2 score.
Despite being in 4th place and 9 points behind the table leaders, it looks like the 2011 champions (Express) haven’t given up yet and continue to chase the title.
While Edward Golola will not be willing to give up his unbeaten run yet, Express’ Waswa Bbosa will equally not be ready to lose a second game in a row after that 2-1 defeat against Police last week on Tuesday.
“We have no injuries but Noah Ssemakula and the trial games we had in Tanzania were of great help. Our preparations for the game have been smooth and all I promise is that if we play as we plan, we’ll win the game,” Bbosa told Kawowo after their trip to Tanzania
