Matugga Magistrates Court has sentenced TikToker Arafat, popularly known as Fire King, to 24 months in prison.
The ruling was delivered today following his false claims of having had a sexual relationship with renowned traditional healer and businesswoman Sylvia Namutebi, also known as Maama Fiina.
Fire King’s allegations, made publicly on social media, were dismissed as untrue.
The TikToker was arrested earlier this week and reportedly pleaded for forgiveness from Maama Fiina. However, his efforts to seek mercy proved unsuccessful.
The court found his actions damaging to Maama Fiina’s reputation, emphasizing the need to hold individuals accountable for their statements, particularly on platforms like TikTok.
Maama Fiina is a respected figure in her community, known for her work in traditional healing and business.
She maintained that Fire King’s claims were entirely fabricated and demanded justice for the harm caused to her image.
This case serves as a reminder of the legal consequences of spreading false information, especially against prominent individuals.
