TikToker Ibrahim Musana, known by his online alias Pressure 24/7, has been ordered to remain in Luzira Prison until April 29th as investigations into allegations of hate speech progress.

Pressure 24/7

Musana faces accusations of making derogatory remarks against the Kabaka of Buganda and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

The decision to extend Musana’s remand was made during a court session held today, following a request from the prosecution to allow more time for thorough investigations into the case.

Musana’s arrest stemmed from a video posted on his TikTok account, where he allegedly made inflammatory statements targeting the Kabaka of Buganda and President Museveni.

The content of the video sparked outrage and prompted swift action from law enforcement authorities.

The case has attracted significant attention on social media platforms, with both supporters and critics expressing their opinions on Musana’s conduct and the implications of his words.

Some have defended Musana’s right to free speech, while others have condemned his remarks as incendiary and potentially harmful to societal harmony.

Meanwhile, authorities continue to emphasize the importance of responsible online behavior and the consequences of spreading hate speech or inciting violence through digital platforms.

Why Tamale Mirundi Jr was arrested

The case against Musana serves as a reminder of the legal boundaries surrounding freedom of expression, particularly in the context of social media.

As investigations into the matter proceed, Musana remains in custody at Luzira Prison, awaiting further legal proceedings scheduled for April 29th.
