In a recent development stirring up controversy within Uganda’s social media circles, the family of young TikTok sensation Rango Tenge Tenge has reportedly expressed intentions to reclaim custody of their son.
Their aim is to remove him from the care of his close friend and social media manager, known only as Mike, citing a belief that they can produce superior content.
The news emerged through a social media video shared by singer Kid Dee, a close associate of Tenge Tenge, who shed light on the situation.
According to Kid Dee’s account, Mike has played a significant role in transforming Tenge Tenge’s life, guiding him from difficult circumstances to success. Allegedly, Tenge Tenge’s family had previously neglected him, leaving him to navigate a life on the streets.
Kid Dee further disclosed that Mike has not only provided guidance but also facilitated Tenge Tenge’s return to education by covering his school fees. This act of support contrasts sharply with the reported history of Tenge Tenge being denied educational opportunities by his own family.
In an additional piece of advice directed at Tenge Tenge’s family, Kid Dee urged them to engage with Mike if their aim is to explore business opportunities involving the young talent. He emphasized that severing ties with Mike would not only disrupt Tenge Tenge’s burgeoning career but also risk losing the valuable support system he has found in his friend.
The anticipated move by Tenge Tenge’s family has elicited strong condemnation from his fans and the wider public. Many argue that disrupting his current arrangement could stifle his growth and undo the progress he has made under Mike’s mentorship. The outpouring of support for Tenge Tenge indicates the significant impact he has made within Uganda’s social media landscape.
As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how Tenge Tenge’s family will proceed and whether they will heed the calls to reconsider their decision in light of the overwhelming support for maintaining the status quo.
