Patrick Idringi Salvado is one of the most successful comedians we have in Uganda. Through comedy, he has travelled to almost every country in Uganda, performed alongside top comedians on the continent as well as staging sold out one man shows. Here are the ten things you didn’t know about him.
1.Salvado grew up in a family of 5 boys and 3 girls, studied at Bishop Supriano and Makerere University Kampala, he is now married to his lovely wife Daphine whom he has with 2 kids. According to him, being a capable father is one of his best achievements.
2.Salvado is a staunch Arsenal fan and football addict, he has supported the club since late 90’s, and his all time best footballer is Thiery Henry who played for Arsenal and Barcelona.
3.Before joining comedy, Salvado worked as a switch Engineer at MTN Uganda and his worst regret was not realizing what he was capable of earlier. At his first gig as a comedian, he was paid only 2 beers to entertain the crown.
4.His best performance since he started comedy was 3 years ago when he performed in Bomas Kenya at the show dubbed A Night of 1000 Laughs.
5.Just like any other human, Patrick Salvado enjoys comedy from other comedians and his favorite African Comedians are Eric Omond of Kenya, Basket Mouth of Nigeria, Church Hill and Carl Joshua Ncube. In Uganda he likes Alex Muhangi and Anne Kansiime then Kevin Hart is his favorite international act
6.Salvado is a great fan of music, he enjoys listening to Hip Hop, Reggae, his all time favorite musician is Élizabeth Tshala Muana Muidikay, alias Tshala from Congo, he believes Chameleone, Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine are the top artistes in Uganda and his favorite Nigerian artistes are Patoranking and Wiz Kid. He is into movies too, he has as well featured in a couple of them and his favorite Ugandan movie is The Expendables
7.Salvado revealed his worst fool’s day experience ever, he was made to drive a 300km for a gig which wasn’t even not there.
8.His biggest crowd he has ever pulled as a solo performer was back last year at his One Man show at The Kampala Serena Hotel, he attracted over 2000 revelers.
9.Besides comedy, Salvado has other investments which include SalvadoPizza restaurant and a bar too. He is working on other projects he is yet to unveil.
10.Lastly, Salvado is a God fearing person, his favorite book he has ever read is a bible. He revealed if he was given a chance to swap his life with any other person’s life, it would be Jesus’
