The Uganda Cranes will play against Ethiopia on 9th November, 2014 in their first international friendly and buildup match ahead of the 2015 Morocco AFCON qualifier tie against Ghana. Uganda will play their second buildup match against Sudan on 11th, November 2014 before finally facing Ghana in their return leg of Group E qualifiers.
According to reports, the Uganda – Ethiopia match will be presided over by Tanzanian referees at the Mandela National stadium, Namboole. Reports indicate that Israel Mujuni Nkongo will be the center referee, and be assisted by Joseph Bulali and Ferdinand Chacha on the right and left flanks of the pitch. The 4th official will be Alex Muhabi Nsulumbi from Uganda and Mike Letti will be the match commissioner on the day.
The game between the Uganda Cranes and Ethiopia has been organized by the government of Uganda to raise awareness for the HIV/AIDS in a campaign that been called ‘Protect The Goal’ as organized by the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and sports in partnership with FUFA.
Before the Uganda and Ethiopia kick-off, there will be a curtain raiser game between the Cabinet XI and Parliament XI in which the President, His Excellence Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to play.
