The president of the republic of Uganda, His Excellence Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to play in a curtain raiser game at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on the 9th of November 2014 before the Uganda Cranes play Ethiopia in their first international friendly and build up match ahead of the Ghana tie.
The Uganda Cranes will face off with the ‘Black Stars’ of Ghana on the 15th of November 2014 in the 2015 Morocco AFCON qualifiers on match day five of Group E. Ghana are the group leaders with 8points from four games, Togo are second with 6points while Uganda are third and Guinea at the bottom but with both teams having 4points from 4games.
The president is expected to embrace the Cranes match that will be played under the campaign ‘Protect the Goal’ in the fight against HIV/AIDS come Sunday 9th November. The president will also be available to show his continued support for the national football team in their campaign to qualify for Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) where they haven’t played since 1978.
The president facilitated the Uganda Cranes with an estimated Ugx 350million during their trip to Lome, Togo on match day four of the campaign in which they lost 1-0 to the hosts of Togo (Sparrow Hawks).
