Following a court session on Monday, music promoter and socialite Charles Olim, popularly known as Sipapa, was remanded back to Luzira Prison until November 18, 2024.
Sipapa, who has been in custody since September 2022, faces charges of masterminding a robbery that took place in Bunga on August 28, 2022.
During the latest hearing at the Makindye Chief Magistrates Court, a fingerprint expert was cross-examined. Sipapa’s lawyer, Geoffrey Turyamusiima, expressed optimism about the case, stating that the court proceedings are leaning in their favor.
“They opened cases against him with allegations that he broke into offices and stole property, including large sums of cash,” said Turyamusiima.
“We cross-examined a fingerprint expert today. This, alongside the testimonies of other witnesses, strengthens our belief that this is a fabricated case, and we remain hopeful that Sipapa will win.”
As the legal battle drags on, the next steps will determine whether Sipapa can prove his innocence or face further legal consequences.
