SINKING OR SHINING: PRODUCER WASHINGTON

Published

By Stuart G-khast

David Bangiti a.k.a Washington Harmony is an upcoming artiste, master producer and ever on form music producer. He has masterminded most top hits ever since his venture into the music production business. Being one of the few music producers who have studied and graduated in this profession, Washington has been outstanding all these years.

He first worked with Fire base crew (Bobi wine and Bebe Cool) before Bebe Cool took him to be his personal producer. While with Bebe Cool in Blackhole records, he won a number of accolades both at National and International level. He did a couple of songs for the fading East African Bashment Crew until 2008 when he left his then boss to join the Goodlyfe crew. Joining Goodlyfe did not change the producer’s quality as he continuously produced hit after hit for the ever shining duo.

In early 2012, he was rumored to have joined Ziza Bafana’s Back to lyfe crew and while there he produced “Tebakulimba” and “Namagalo” which put Ziza Bafana and Yiya Mozze on charts for a couple of months.

However, the producer seems to be waning lately. Washington now sings alongside Rap nature in their crew “Wise men from the East” and have done songs like Ejijimijo, pretty among others.

Ever since he decided to take on singing, his works have not remained the same. This was portrayed when his bosses Radio and Weasel opted for another producer to do their entire Obudde Album.

Radio and Weasel chose to work with Nash wonder, a producer at Monster studio, on their Obudde Album which later earned them a BET nomination instead of their own Washington Harmony. Washington can no longer scoop any awards and has of late not done so many award winning hits.

It’s at this point that we ask, do you think producer Washington is Sinking or Shining?
