Shell V-Power brings Go-Karts racing to Uganda.

It was an exciting week end as Ugandans watched the first ever Go-Karts racing, thanks to Vivo Energy.

Vivo Energy through its brand Shell V-Power sponsored the first ever Go-karts Championship in Uganda. The event that took place on Sunday 9th August at the UMA show grounds excited revellers  who turned up to witness who becomes the first winner of the V-Power champion.

The Shell V-Power Go-karts championship attracted over seven drivers who competed for cash prizes, fans together with Vivo Energy staff were also given a chance to show their racing skills.

Motor sport currently has a big and continued growing fan base in Uganda and this has encouraged Vivo Energy through the V-Power brand and the F1 UG association to bring the fun closer to the motorsport fans.

Gabriel Olowo became the first ever winner of the Shell V-Power championship and he won a cash prize of 1millionfrom Vivo Energy. Allan Baaya came in second position winning 750,000 shillings cash while Go-Karts champion Andrew Lawoko came third, winning 500,000 shillings.

Vivo Energy MD Hans Paulsen hailed all the drivers for the skills they displayed at the first Championship. He also thanked the guests for turning up in large numbers. The race attracted members from the F1 UG, Vivo Energy staff, V-Power club members and the Subaru club among others

 The V-Power Go-kart champion ship will become a quarterly event in order to keep the sport in the spotlight.
