Kampala Junior Team (KJT) made history in the inaugural FUFA Juniors’ League (Under 17 national league) after they were crowned champions over the weekend.
The development followed a 3-0 penalty shootout victory over Masaka’s Synergy in the finals at the Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo.
The two sides played to a one-all draw in normal time.
The league was composed of 13teams that were initially split into two groups i.e. Nile and Murchison.
KJT came out on top of the Murchison group with a total of 33 points hence progressing to the play offs with Synergy, Super Cubs and St Mary’s Nabweru.
They (KJT) edged St Mary’s Nabweru by 3-2 on penalties after playing to a 2-2 draw in normal time while Synergy pipped Super Cubs by 1-0 to reach the finals.
