Musician Sheebah Karungi who was arrested earlier today for alleged fraud has been released. Sheebah Karungi was jailed for 8 hours and later released on police bond.
It all started when she was booked alongside the likes of A Pass and legendary Maddox Sematimba to thrill revelers at Zodiac on its grand opening.
Sources say that the singer was paid 900,000shs and a 250,000 down payment was made. She however didn’t turn up at the event opting to go for another gig.
The Ice Cream singer was grilled for close to 5 hours by the authorities on why she received money and refused to show up and perform. Management at the bar asked for an apology which they didn’t get from the adamant singer.
“250,000shs is little and we can decide to let it go but all we want from her is to apologize publicly that what she did was wrong or else she will have to cough lots of money for tarnishing our brand. We have the receipts and the recordings of her when we were negotiating the deal,” said Dean, a manager at the bar.
Sheebah was later sent to jail only to be saved by her Team No Sleep bosses. She has however been released on bond and asked to appear every start of the week until the issue is settled.
