Weeks back, celebrated Sqoop writer, Jonathan Adengo wrote a feature about marijuana aka weed smoking in Uganda. In the article, he talked about marijuana being sold in all forms with the commonest one being the weed cakes, where you buy a cake having weed as one of the ingredients.

Now news reaching the bigeye.ug desk indicates that school kids are taking marijuana without realizing. School teachers are now into the business of selling weed while rival schools are selling weed to their competitors in a bid to make their students fail.

Schools in Kampala, Wakiso, Mukono and Masaka have been affected.

Apparently, school children are buying sweets not knowing they contain weed. This has also been responsible for the rampant school strikes in the country.

Among the weed-branded sweets include: ‘StrawberryQuick’ and ’CrystalMeth.’

BigEye.ug is yet to establish the manufacturers of these sweets and the wholesalers. Otherwise, to all parents, your kid may be taking weed in your presence.
