Recent events at Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium left the pitch in a bad state hence forcing the clash between old rivals Sports Club Villa and Express Football Club to be postponed again.
Initially the duel was meant to be played on the 30th of October but a heavy down pour that left the stadium flooded forced a reschedule for the game that was put to Saturday, 7th November, 2015.
However, for two consecutive days, the stadium has been crowded with supporters of presidential candidates; former Prime Minister John Patrick Amama Mbabazi and Dr. Kizza Besigye on Tuesday and Wednesday leaving the turf in a very poor state and unwelcome for play.
“SC Villa and Express FC which had been rescheduled to Saturday 7th November 2015 has again been postponed due the poor condition of Nakivubo Stadium playing surface following the two political events hosted by the stadium on 3rd and 4th November 2015. A new date for this match will be communicated later,” reads a confirmation statement on Airtelfootball.ug
Other clashes between KCCA FC and Bright Stars FC, Vipers SC and Police FC will go on as scheduled on Friday 6th November, 2015 at Luzira grounds and in Buikwe respectively.
