Uganda Cup defending champions and 16-time record league champions, Sports Club Villa are now camped at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru, Jinja as they prepare for their upcoming tie in the CAF Confederations Cup.
The Jogoos will face El Watani of Khartoum from Sudan in the preliminary round of the annual continental competition.
According to the club’s PRO, Abu Zikusooka Senabulya, “SC villa will today 9th engage in a friendly match with league debutants JMC Hippos at 4:00pm at Njeru,” as stated on his Facebook wall.
The first leg between the two sides is slated for 14th February 2016 in Khartoum, Sudan while the return fixture will be played on 26th February at Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium in Kampala.
The continental football governing body CAF has already named officials to take charge of the first leg fixture. Ethiopian national Aileyesus Bazezew Belete will be the center referee and will be assisted by Tigle Gizaw Belachew and Kinfe Yilma as his first and second assistants respectively.
Biruk Yemanabran Kassaun from Ethiopia will be the reserve referee while Egypt’s Essam Eldin Abdel Fattah Abdel will be the match commissioner.
