The 2015 losing finalists and 8-time Uganda Cup winners, Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) are in Mbarara where they will be taking on Mbarara Soccer Academy for their round of 64 fixture in the Uganda Cup.
KCCA FC arrived in Mbarara yesterday afternoon and camped at Rwizi Arch Hotel ahead of today’s clash. Head coach Mike Mutebi has warned his side against taking their opponents lightly because they are a non-league team.
“Thank God we arrived safely in Mbarara on Monday afternoon and we are now getting a feel of the area. I’m not going to rest my stars because we’re playing a non-league side,” Mutebi is quoted on the club’s website.
Having warned his side of complacency, the head tactician has also promised to field the best team on the day to ensure victory as he looks to Derrick Nsibambi to lead the attack having scored 5 times in their recent six friendly matches ahead of the second round of the Azam Uganda Premier League.
“We plan to go for an early goal and immediately kill off the contest. The hosts know the Kakyeka pitch well and will do anything to frustrate us but we are ready for any sort of battle,” he added.
The victor at the end of today’s tie will then faceoff with Jinja based side Sadolin Paints at the round of 32 of the annual Uganda Cup.
