Popular Ugandan singer Ronald Mayinja expressed his indifference towards criticism on social media.
Mayinja, who has faced significant online scrutiny over the years, attributes some of the attacks to paid detractors.
“I am not bothered by any social media critics. I am aware that some of them are paid to attack me on social media. But now I think they are broke, that’s why they no longer abuse me,” Mayinja told Spark TV, suggesting a shift in the volume and intensity of the criticism he receives.
Mayinja further commented on the nature of online criticism, emphasizing the systematic nature of propaganda. “Don’t you know that propaganda is also a course that people go to university to study?” he added, indicating a broader awareness of how narratives are constructed and perpetuated.
Over the years, Ronald Mayinja has been one of the most frequently criticized celebrities in Uganda.
Despite this, he maintains a confident and resilient stance, showcasing a deep understanding of the dynamics at play in social media discourse.
