Renowned singer Roden Y Kabako has sparked concern over the rampant drug abuse within the music industry, warning that without intervention, fatalities will escalate rapidly.
Kabako shed light on the drug culture among artists, particularly emphasizing its prevalence among female singers.
Kabako emphasized the urgent need for prayers to combat this growing epidemic, fearing that without divine intervention, the industry will witness a surge in casualties akin to flies dropping dead.
He underscored the imperative for musicians to diversify their skill sets by pursuing education in fields such as medicine and psychology to facilitate early identification and intervention for their peers.
Furthermore, Kabako called upon the media to exercise restraint in spotlighting musicians, especially those visibly struggling with substance abuse, to shield them from public embarrassment. He pledged to compile a roster of heavily intoxicated musicians deemed unfit for interviews to safeguard their dignity.
Expressing his stance on the impending funds allocated to the Musicians Federation under Eddy Kenzo’s leadership, Kabako distanced himself from any association, vehemently refusing to partake in the disbursement.
Instead, he urged beneficiaries to utilize the funds for tangible investments such as property and vehicles, cautioning against squandering taxpayers’ money. Kabako warned that accountability measures would be implemented, with a dossier prepared to prosecute any individuals implicated in corruption.
