What is the quickest way to ruin a good mood? Bring an ex into the picture. That was a lesson singer Chris Evans had to learn the hard way after he was almost throw off the stage while performing at Rema’s concert on Friday evening at Hotel Africana.
Evans had been invited on stage by Rema to perform their collabo, “Linda”. He however went off script, and changed lyrics of the song mentioning Kenzo, something that did not sit well with the “Siri Muyembe” hitmaker.
Rema was clearly not pleased with Chris Evans’ actions, and what he thought would please the audience quickly backfired.
She halted the performance and almost slapped Evans as he dragged him all the way towards the stairs leading off stage. All the while the crowd watched on with bated breath as he tried to apologise.
Although she let him continue singing, the chemistry between the two singers was all lost after that. Attempts to try to perform together were met with hostility and Rema was visibly livid through out the performance of the song. In fact, Rema did not sing for the remaining part of the song. She let Evans carry on alone, and later exited the stage to take a breather and make a change in a wardrobe for the second part of her show.
Evans performed just one more song after the incident and left the stage with embarrassment written allover his face.
