An opportunity knocks once at every man’s door! If you are looking for ‘plot’ this weekend, Mbale is the place to be. You have a chance to visit Mt. Elgon, Simu and Sisi Falls, Bufumbo and Wanala Forest reserves, Semei Kakungulu burial grounds on Sunday and Monday 9th since it is a Public holiday.
Just before those extra visits, super hiking this Saturday might seem a high goal for Uganda’s tourism stakeholders. Anyone is invited to participate in the Hike challenge at Wanale ridge in Mbale . The Wanale experience starts Friday evening and ends on Sunday afternoon .
Registration is in progress at AUTO secretariat-Plot 14 York terrace Kololo opposite Burundi embassy. Individual participants are expected to pay Ug. Sh 20,000. A coaster bus is available on the afternoon of 6th Friday departing from Shoprite Lugogo at around 4pm and returning on Sunday 8th for only 40,000.
According to the coordinators in Mbale, they have negotiated for a discounted accommodation package which ranges from as low as Ug. Sh 15,000 to 200,000 per night.
