Reach A Hand, Uganda (RAHU), in partnership with DKT Women Care, has launched a new campaign dubbed “Love My Levo” which is geared towards promoting reversible family planning methods.
The campaign launch, which coincided with Women’s Day celebrations, was held at the International University of East Africa in Kampala on Tuesday.
The event brought together various stakeholders from the maternal and reproductive health space in Uganda, government officials, young people, and influencers among others.
Speaking at the event, Humphrey Nabimanya, the CEO Reach A Hand Uganda revealed that the campaign will empower young people to make informed choices about their bodies.
“Having worked on adolescent and youth sexual reproductive health and rights matters in Uganda for 10 years, Reach A Hand Uganda (RAHU), has positioned itself through different strategies, programs, and partnerships like DKT to empower young people to make informed choices about their bodies.” Said Humphrey Nabimanya.
The campaign will be spearheaded by prominent and enterprising women influencers advocating for access to reversible family planning methods with emphasis being on the Levo Implant. The influencers include; Fatuma Hasha, Mrs. Stacey Bainomugisha, Manuela Mulondo, Harmony Kyomugisha, Prima Kadarshi and Martha Mukisa.
What is Levoplant?
Levoplant is a World Health Organisation [WHO] pre-qualified implant that prevents pregnancy for 3 years. It is a reversible, long-acting, effective, and safe contraceptive implant. Levoplant is inserted subdermally under a woman’s upper arm. Levoplant is a product of DKT Women Care.
