Ugandan rapper Ruyonga, popularly known as Rruu, has opened up about his recent experience in the United States, describing it as a “bittersweet” journey.

Speaking after spending some time abroad, the award-winning hip-hop artist shared his reflections on life in America compared to Uganda.
“My life in the USA was bittersweet. There are things we take for granted here in Uganda, but it’s priceless in the USA,” Ruyonga said during his interview on Galaxy TV.

Though he did not go into detail, his statement suggests that despite the opportunities and comforts in the United States, certain everyday aspects of Ugandan life—possibly community, culture, or simplicity—are deeply valuable and often missed when abroad.
Ruyonga is one of Uganda’s most respected lyricists, known for blending deep messages with urban beats.
His time in the U.S. is believed to have included both personal and professional experiences.
Many fans have praised him for staying grounded and speaking honestly about life overseas, reminding young Ugandans that not everything is perfect on the other side.
Ruyonga continues to inspire with his music and life lessons, drawing from both local and global experiences.
