The fourth edition of Qwela Junction kicks off its 2016 calendar with an all-male line-up and a Nile Gold partnership supported by NTV, Radio One, The Beat, Kampala Serena Hotel, Rwenzori Premium and SMS One. This follows a successful third edition in November last year with an all-female line-up dubbed “The Divas”.
The highly anticipated fourth edition dubbed “The Crooners” will feature seven male Ugandan artistes. Maddox Ssematimba wil bring a taste of reggae music while Benon Mugumya, Allan Tonix, Kimera, Richy Kawesa and Afro-soul singer Kenneth Mugabi will bring in their fusions for the highly anticipated event.
Each quarter during the year, Qwela Junction seeks to bring together artists on the same stage to deliver a one-of-a-kind collaborative concert.

Speaking during a press conference held on Tuesday at Gatto Matto, Julian Ssentamu the Nile Gold Brand manager said, “Nile Gold is proud to be associated with Qwela Junction. Through the provision of this platform for a diversity of genres of music, we are reaffirming our commitment to rewarding the music industry in Uganda.”
“It is rewarding to be able to recognize local artistes as they aspire to reach their heights, showcase their talent and interact with their fans,” Ssentamu added.
“There is nothing as creative or as rewarding to the industry like this and we could not be more honored to present yet another edition of Qwela Junction,” said Joe Kahirimbanyi from Qwanza Music.
“The event brings together artists that we would otherwise possibly never see either share a stage or even feature on the same song. The Qwela junction is a unique and magical show because there is something that is created when multiple artistes fuse their chemistry and style on one stage,” he added.
The Crooners edition will be held on Sunday, 8th May at the Kampala Serena Hotel. Entrance is 50K(ordinary) and 150K(VIP).
