Longtime Ugandan music producer Karim Muchwa, popularly known as Didi, has recently shared his HIV/AIDS diagnosis, shedding light on the challenging journey that led to this revelation.

Earlier this month, Didi publicly disclosed his HIV-positive status during an interview on Sanyuka TV. He recounted how he discovered he was infected with the virus, a discovery that came as a shock.
“Everything you do will always be exposed,” Didi remarked. “I have been suffering from ulcers and high blood pressure, and two weeks ago, I contacted Emma Carlos thinking it was the same issue. We did a check-up, and my doctor asked me about my status. I told him I was negative, but he asked if I knew how the results could change. That’s how I found out I was positive.”
Didi’s health has been deteriorating for years, causing concern among his friends and family. Despite his health challenges, Didi remains a celebrated figure in the Ugandan music industry.
He is renowned for producing several hit songs, including “My Miss” by Coco Finger, “Stamina” by Eddy Kenzo, and “Mama Brenda” by Sweet Kid, among others.
Didi’s openness about his condition aims to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and the importance of regular health check-ups.
His courage in sharing his story has been met with an outpouring of support from the music community and fans alike.
As Didi navigates this new chapter of his life, he continues to inspire many with his resilience and dedication to his craft.
