President Museveni flags off Ugandan ICT talents who are leaving for the Huawei Seeds for the Future program in China.

President Yoweri Museveni flagged off the 10 Ugandan ICT talents to take part in the Huawei Seeds for the Future training program in Shenzhen, China at State House in Entebbe on Tuesday 12th April at 4:00pm.

This training program is set to start from 16th to 30th April 2016 at the Huawei headquarters in Shenzhen China. It is expected to equip knowledge to the Ugandan talents in areas of telecom strategy, ICT industry trends and newest technology and equipment.

“I officially flag off the talents for the ICT training course in China”, said H.E. Yoweri Museveni the President of the Republic of Uganda as he waved the Uganda flag.

The program that was announced to the President of Uganda in 2015 during his state visit to China, is expected to see 10 talents every year acquire knowledge in the latest technology in Huawei training centers around the world as confirmed by the Huawei Managing Director Mr. Stanley Chyn at the flag off ceremony.

“Your Excellency, we intend to take 10 talents every year to our training centers in China and we know they shall benefit from this program in terms of ICT knowledge transfer”, he said.

The program that started globally in 2008 was launched to nurture professionals who are urgently needed to drive development of the ICT industry in countries where Huawei operates.
