Bobi Wine has today forced KCCA officials to swing into action after he blocked one of the roads in his neighborhood. Popular for doing songs that call for social change, the singer today took matters into his own hands and mobilised the locals to draw attention of the authorities to the menace in their community – blocking a road that had developed a sinkhole and consequently caused multiple accidents.
He explained, “About four days ago,this “sink hole” right in the middle of Old Kira road caused an accident that claimed 2 senior four students as I watched. Then hours later,KCCA officials were arresting vendors and closing illegal businesses in the same neighborhood.
“Today morning another accident happened.Luckily, no one died. So I thought,#WhatWouldMagufuliDo? I got the residents together and we did just that.”
The authorities have responded in the affirmative and are now addressing the issue.
He added, “When we closed Old Kira Road this morning because of a deadly Hole, we wanted to draw attention of the authorities to the matter and it worked like magic…I want to thank KCCA for responding accordingly in just a matter of hours. We are now working with KCCA engineers to fix it in the shortest time.”
