Bebe Cool and the dynamic duo Radio and Weasel dominated this year’s 3rd annual Hipipo Music Awards that were held Saturday evening at Wonder World auditorium, Kansanga. Bebe Cool scooped 6 awards that included Best artiste of the year and Male artiste of the year among others. Radio and Weasel were a close second to Bebe Cool after scooping 4 awards that included Song of the year and Album of the year.
Ziza Bafana and Sheebah Karungi were some of the other big winners on the evening after they each bagged 2 awards.
Meanwhile, Afrigo Band’s Joanita Kawalya whose music career spans over 26 years was awarded the Lifetime Achievement award which was presented to her by the self-proclaimed ghetto gladiator Bobi Wine. As part of her acceptance speech, Jaonita invited her “sons”– Navio, Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine — to the stage to celebrate the milestone with her.
