Musician-turned-politician Kalifah Aganaga, real name Mukiibi Sadat, faced a disappointing outcome in the Kawempe North parliamentary by-election, securing only 239 votes.

Aganaga, who contested under the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) ticket, finished fifth in a highly competitive race.
The election was convincingly won by Elias Nalukoola, the candidate from the National Unity Platform (NUP), who secured a landslide victory with 17,764 votes.
His closest competitor, Nambi Faridah from the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), garnered 8,593 votes, placing second.
Meanwhile, Lusswa Luwemba, the former personal assistant to the late Muhammad Ssegirinya, ran as an Independent and received 240 votes, narrowly edging out Aganaga by a single vote.
Despite his popularity in the entertainment industry, his political ambitions did not appeal with the voters of Kawempe North.
