Peter miles, 33 years of age, regarded the best dancehall icon in Ugandan music with that patois touch who has been nominated several times in PAM Awards, KASIMA Awards and to top it up in MTV Awards was on Monday, 12th august 2013 appointed “Good Will Ambassador” with the UN. The unveiling was at the Initiation Conference held at Commonwealth Resort Munyonyo.
The “Rackus” singer therefore has decided to bestow to his people and mostly the beloved fans by hosting a celebration party for landing a slot as Good Will Ambassador with the UN under the U-report initiative by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon.
UN over the years enlisted volunteer services and support from prominent personalities from the worlds of art, music, film, sports to emphasize key issues in consideration to its activities. Olympians, World champions, influential athletes and sports personalities have lent their name and time to support the UN family.
Their mass appeal especially helps in motivating people to act in the interest of improving their own lives and their fellow citizens. They are given titles of “Good Will Ambassadors” “Messenger of Peace” “special representative” “Champion for Sports” or other status according to the UN entity appointing.
Among these include football players Didier Drogba, Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane, tennis player Maria Sharapova and now our own Peter Miles, the music representative, championing the cause of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) using their celebrity status and social media networks.
All those who enjoy the patois (Jamaican language) music and the reggae/dance touch of Peter Miles come through for crazy fun and Champaign popping all night through. The party is hosted by silk club organized by silk events on Thursday 22nd august and gates will be open at 7pm. Big ups Peter Miles.
