Arsenal are ready to offer out-of-favour Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina a Premier League lifeline and are plotting a £5million bid.
Reina has been told to leave Anfield this summer but Napoli, the club where he spent last season on-loan, have so far failed to make a permanent offer for him.
He admitted this week that he faces an uncertain future, but Arsenal want to end the speculation by bringing him to north London.
According to reports, Arsene Wenger is set to make a £5million bid for his services and believes he stands a good chance of getting his man.
The Gunners are in desperate need of a second goalie after Lukasz Fabianski left for Swansea, and Reina has been a long-term target.
Arsenal reportedly made an offer to lure him three years ago, when he was in his prime at Liverpool, but the transfer eventually collapsed.
