Vinka premieres new video — “Sure”. Watch it here!
By Our Reporter
Swangz Avenue songstress, Vinka has remained true to her word. The singer who promised to release a brand new video every month this year has released the video for May, making it her fifth video of the year.
Dubbed “Sure”, the video was officially premiered on Wednesday evening during an event held at Racers bar in Bukoto.
“I had an amazing time working on this video, but I can’t say it was an entirely new experience because I was working with a team I have previously worked with on different projects,” she said at the premiere.
The video was directed by Swangz Avenue’s Marvin Musoke with Tazibone Solomon doing the styling while the choreography was by Rozmerie Atim and Cathy Luna.
The video which runs for 2 minutes and 41 seconds was shot in Munyonyo over one day.
Vinka has so far released other songs including “Only For You” ft. Yung6ix, “Oluyimba Lwomaka”, and “Goodie Goodie”.
“I am not feeling any undue pressure because of releasing a new video every month,” she noted. “The music is there, and we want the fans to enjoy every song rather than release an album and some songs don’t get listened to.”

Mo Roots stuns in “My Woman Cries” video
By Our Reporter
Mo Roots recently released a new music video for her super powerful song, ‘My Woman Cries’. To start with, the video is a stunning production which features a number of famous women such as Mildred Apenyo, Sandra Suubi and Solome Basuuta. And above it all, there’s also a lot of great fashion.
In the riveting Ace Daniels directed video, Mo Roots dons a sequined SKP by Sheba Kassami Pemba dress which features a chiffon cape and an off-the-shoulder cut. The neo-soul singer makes the most of the cape detail almost getting off her feet because it literally gave her wings.
She later changes into a lace kaftan also from the design house. The stunning creations were fully in sync with the monochrome colour palette of the production. They also accentuated her subtle makeup and short rugged hair, considering she’s a woman crying for help.
Other stand out looks include Mildred Apenyo’s black romper, which gave the feminist power to fight viciously to the point that she broke a sweat. Sandra Suubi’s turtleneck kaftan and towering braids gave her a regal look albeit trying to make signals seeking for help. Solome Basuuta went for a sassier look, carrying a fur throw over. However, shortly after, the throw over was off to the ground.
There’s a lot of tears, hair flying in the air, sweat and fighting in the production that it’s impossible to not pay attention to ‘My Woman She Cries’.
‘My Woman She Cries’ is the second song off MoRoots’ upcoming album From the Sun.
“The song is a rallying cry for my country and the world to take a moment and pay attention to the plight of the woman,” Mo Roots explained.
“My hope is that through these words, my woman will find a voice to confront the sources of her tears and fears, and that every time it plays on the radio or on television, people will open their eyes to the change that needs to happen,” she added.
Sheba Kassami Pemba, the creative director of the SKP brand couldn’t help share how thrilled she was to have been part of the project.
“I’m always inspired by the power of women in transforming a nation,” she noted. “This project is just the perfect example of what happens when women choose to come together to make something happen.”
