Nigerian Choir breaks world record

A Nigerian choral group has broken the World record for largest number of Christmas carol singers in the world, Nigerian media has reported.

The record was officially certified by the Guinness World Records which consequently posted it on their site. The choir was made up of 25 272 members, and broke the former record of 15 674 carol singers set by a group in Columbia in December 2013.

Guinness World Records representatives were in attendance at the concert of Unity Choir held at a Township Stadium on December 13. They sang a medley of The First Noel, Joy to the World, O Christmas Tree, Hark the Herald the Angels Sing, Once in Royal David’s City and O Come All Ye Faithful.
