Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club’s new January signings in the names of former goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan and Francis Olaki have made it to the Yellow’s squad that will be playing in the CAF champions that is due next month.
The duo are part of the 22 man squad that head coach Abdallah Mubiru named for the CAF champions league. Another new signing who also made it to the squad is Timothy Awani. The defending champions of the Uganda Premier League (UPL), KCCA will play against Cameroon’s Cosmos De Bafia in the preliminary round of the competition with the first leg set for 13th February in Kampala before a return leg on 27th in Yaoundé.
After losing a couple of star players in the transfer window, Abdallah Mubiru will need to need to up his tactical abilities. Brian Umony recently joined St. George of Ethiopia, star winger Brian Majwega earlier left for Tanzania’s Azam, Richard Kasagga, Daniel Isiagi and Martin Elungati are the players that exited the club.
Mubiru however believes that his squad is enough to do all it takes to get the job done. “I have belief this squad can do well on the continent. We may add one or two players on the list but I have confidence,” Mubiru told the club’s website.
The Kasasiro boys have been greatly linked with a move for senior Cranes defender Savio Kabugo who is currently at Sports Club Victoria University. Simon Mbaziira and Josephn Ochaya are the others two players that have been linked with the club.
