Former Uganda Cranes Captain who recently put an end to his 20 year career as a soccer player, Ibrahim Sekagya has kicked off his new journey as an assistant coach at the New York Red Bulls.
The flamboyant defender marked his debut as his side was held to a one-all draw against Sporting Kansas City during their opening game of the 2015/2016 Major League Soccer season in Kansas on Sunday.
Having played for many big clubs like Arsenal De Sarandi (2005–2007), Red Bull Salzburg (2007–2013), New York Red Bulls (2013– 2014) among others around the globe, few can question the former star’s potential to take charge of the game.
His side will be back in action in less than a fortnight when they entertain DC United at their home ground of the Red Bull Arena in New York on the 22nd of March.
