The launch of a redesigned Apple TV has reportedly been delayed due to negotiation issues with cable companies.
According to The Information, engineers within Apple have been told that the product – originally due to release this year – has been delayed until 2015.
Problems with Comcast’s pending acquisition of Time Warner Cable, along with Apple’s attempts at sourcing content from cable companies for the set-top box, are said to have held the device back.
Apple CEO Tim Cook had previously claimed that the company would release a new type of device this year, which could point to a next-gen Apple TV.
The Apple TV itself is believed to be some sort of iOS-powered box that delivers video content over the web.
