Ugandans and the world at large will yet again witness a thrilling Uganda and Hollywood movie production depicting the life of Idi Amin Dada. This follows several other movies that have previously tried to depict the same character, however, the difference will still be on how the story is told.
Hundreds, a week ago, turned up for the auditions at the National Theatre where the Ugandan cast was being selected during a two day exercise. The auditions attracted some of the biggest names in Ugandan movie industry including; Mathew Nabwiso, Sarah Kisauzi, Prynce Okuyo, Allie Mutaka, Esther Bwanika, Micheal Wawuyo Sr and Ernest Bumba among others.
Hollywood stars Don Cheadle known for a role in Hotel Rwanda and Haysbert are among the Hollywood stars lined up to feature in the movie.
The film, to be produced under Fabrizio’s Dogwood Media Productions, is expected to depict circumstances under which thousands of Christians were butchered on Amin’s orders in the ’70s.
The movie will hopefully start being shot in some parts of Uganda by early next year.
