It has been one year and a half years since Iryn Namubiru was arrested in Japan and accused of drug trafficking, an offence that would have brought the death sentence upon the “Birowozo” singer. The singer has however made her way back to the Asian country. She landed on Monday this week.
She went to the country to perform at the birthday of Happy Science Uganda CEO Ryuho Okawa. On Monday, Iryn performed for a crowd of close to 50,000 people.
She shared photos online of her performance and her time in Japan.
Iryn also visited the prosecutor who helped her close her case and secure her freedom. She was very grateful to him for the way he handled and followed up on the case.
